RIM BlackBerry Bold 9900Mobilicity has already confirmed that the BlackBerry Bold 9900 is coming soon to the carrier but the exact launch date has remained a bit of a mystery. The carrier’s CEO, Dave Dobbin, promised via Twitter that it was only “weeks away.” Thanks to a tip and a hint today, it looks like the launch window has been narrowed down to the first week of October.

First, MobileSyrup.com today received a tip suggesting that the launch would happen at the beginning of October. Second, responding via Twitter to some enquiries, Dobbin indicated that the launch would happen in “fewer days than you have fingers and toes.” That suggests a launch on or before October 7th.

Pricing has not been revealed but the BlackBerry Bold 9900 sells for around the CA$600 mark with other Canadian carriers.

Executive shakeup at Mobilicity

Mobilicity

MobileSyrup.com has learned that Mobilicity’s leadership team is undergoing some changes. At this point, it appears that Doug Perry (Vice President of Sales), Sara Moore (Vice President of Marketing) and Sharyn Gravelle (Vice President of Network Operations) have all been let go. Mobilicity’s Chief Operating Officer, Stewart Lyons, provided the following explanation:

“Like many organizations, which evolve from a ‘build’ to operational phase, we have streamlined our management team to reduce redundancies and improve efficiencies. These strategic alignments, along with having recently raised $215 million in new financing, will ensure our long-term success as we remain committed to providing a growing number of Canadians with incumbent-like wireless quality enhanced by a value proposition that is unparalleled in this country.”

While I can accept that a maturing company does need to realign every so often, the fact that both Sales and Marketing leads were part of this ‘streamlining’ seems to suggest that all might not be well at Mobilicity.
