HTCThe HTC DIx has been the topic of rumours for a while. Known also as the HTC 6435LVW and the HTC DLX, it has resurfaced again today. @Football4PDA, who has a pretty good track record, today tweeted about its specifications (and calling it the DLX). We can expect the following:

    • Processor: 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro
    • Operating system: Google Android 4.1.2
    • Display: 5-inch Full HD
    • Memory: 1.5GB RAM
    • Storage: 16GB ROM
    • Rear-facing camera: 12MP
    • Front-facing camera: 2MP
    • Battery: Non-removable 2,500mAh

These latest specifications line up nicely with those of earlier rumours.

The HTC DIx appears headed to Verizon as the DROID Incredible X. It also appears that HTC could release variants as the HTC One X5 and a Nexus variant called the Google Nexus 5.

There is no word yet on availability and pricing.

Update: A tweet from @evleaks about the HTC DLX also popped up today with very similar details. We’ve updated the specs above with a few new details like the presence of NFC. Is an announcement in the air?

Late 2012 Verizon smartphone roadmap leaked?

Posted by  Comments Off on Late 2012 Verizon smartphone roadmap leaked?
Sep 212012

VerizonA leaked Verizon handset roadmap has allegedly revealed the smartphones, including a number of higher-end ones, that the carrier will introduce by the year.

First up will be the LG Spectrum II in early October. Essentially a rebranded version of the LG Optimus LTE II, it will come with a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, a 4.7-inch display, and an 8MP camera. The oft-rumoured HTC DROID Incredible X (model ADR6435LVW also known as the HTC DIx) with its 5-inch display and LTE connectivity, looks set to follow in November. Sometime in the middle of Q4, you can also expect the Motorola DROID RAZR HD.

Windows Phone 8 will also be well represented. It looks like Verizon will offer the HTC Windows Phone 8X, Nokia Lumia 920, and Samsung ATIV S. All look set for a November release.

It should come as no surprise that there are no BlackBerry devices in the lineup. Verizon does not expect to offer RIM’s first BlackBerry 10 earlier than Q1 2013.

Other smartphones expected include the Samsung Stratosphere 2 with slide-out QWERTY keyboard and the Pantech Breakout. There could also be a few tablets including ZTE 7-inch and 10-models.

HTC One X5 phablet revealed in press render?

Rumours of a 5-inch display HTC smartphone have been brewing for some time. Most tipped the device as headed to Verizon as the HTC 6435LVW (or HTC DIx or DROID Incredible X more recently). If a leaked press render is to be believed, it will also be launched as the HTC One X5.

Rumoured HTC One X5 phablet

The name does suggest that the HTC One X5 will come with a 5-inch (possibly 1080p HD) display. The image also does not show any sign of a stylus, supporting earlier rumours that it would not support a digital input device.

There is no word on specifications to go with the image but past rumours suggest a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC (perhaps an S4 Pro?), LTE connectivity, 1.5GB RAM, and 16GB of internal memory.

With an HTC press event only days away, we will hopefully know all very shortly…

Rumour: HTC DIx specifications revealed?

HTCIf the latest rumour is to be believed, the oft-rumoured HTC dlx may not be. Instead, it appears that the HTC 6435LVW, last seen in blurry pictures, is in fact the HTC DIx. A “trusted source” has told HTC Source that it will indeed come with a 5-inch 1080p HD 480ppi display and revealed some new specification details.

The report indicates that the HTC DIx will come with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC, 1.5GB RAM, and 16GB of internal storage. A second notification LED for alerts will be located on the back of the device near the camera. Sadly, it appears at this time that the HTC DIx will not come with active pen support or a microSD card slot for external storage. The battery could also be non-removable.

Earlier rumours suggested that the HTC DIx would come with a dual-core Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon S4 processor and a display offering “only” 418ppi. These latest specifications suggest that HTC may have decided to up its game with this device.

The official name of the HTC 6435LVW branding has not been revealed yet. One suggestion is that it could be called the DROID Incredible X (hence the DIx acronym) when finally announced, perhaps as early as September 19th.
